Better Products are available Mar 23, 2009
By B. Galbraith The support poles are the type that are held together by a long elastic strap and you insert them end to end to make a large pole. The strap broke the second time I set up the net so I was left with a bunch of small untethered sticks. The third time I set it up (after carfully inserting the separate sticks) the netting ripped.

Don't buy it May 20, 2009

Second time I used it for baseball practice, netting ripped. Third time one of the fiberglass poles actually splintered and broke off in one of the metal rings, making it unusable. 50 bucks - three uses - and it went in the trash. Do yourself a favor and buy something else.

Poor design, do not buy Jul 21, 2009

It takes a long time, a lot of coordination, and two adults/big kids to set this net up. It is an exercise in frustration. (Actually, 3 adults could probably set this up easily with some practice but the directions say 2 adults are needed.)
The difficulty comes from the fact that the two long poles are secured at a 90 degree angle to one another with a small plastic piece. The poles do NOT lock into the plastic piece.. the ends just slide into a hole. This means that one pole or another is constantly popping out of its hole as you are trying to bend a different end of the pole.
As you can see from the photo of the net, the poles need to be bent quite a bit, and it requires a lot of pressure to do this. As noted in the other reviews, the poles are a series of smaller poles that need to be fit into one another to make a long pole. This is another problem area because the severe arc required for the poles will sometimes cause the small poles to disconnect from one another during set up.
The first time we set up this net, the strap that goes across the front (on the ground) ripped at one end. This is a 3rd problem area. If you aren't careful with the set up, you'll put too much pressure on the strap (which is held taut by the bent poles). The strap is an important part of keeping the net stable when in use.
The store gave us a new net after the first incident. Fortunately, the net broke again the 4th time we set it up, so we're done.
I think that this net might get some use if you have a space (i.e. backyard) where it does not have to be dismantled. Overall, though, the effort required to set it up makes this product not worth buying.

WORKED FOR ME AND MY KIDS Aug 26, 2009
By Michael K. Mcguire

Wow, I can't believe the other reviews. I'm not sure if people have only made reviews that have had bad experiences or I was just lucky with the specific net I purchased.
First off, it took me about 5 minutes to set it up with occasional help from my wife. As long as you are familiar with sitting up tents, then you should be fine. I purchased the product because my son is starting soccer and I've wanted one for a while to practice golf.
My son uses a soccer ball which of course isn't going to affect the net, but I was impressed when the net held up to my Driver. You should be careful not to hit the poles with anything that has much velocity (they are plastic/composite tent poles and I'm certain they would splinter as mentioned in other reviews).
Overall, if you are wanting it to hit golf balls occasionally and let your kids hit soccer balls or baseballs into it I would say it is a great value. However, if you are looking for a commercial grade product that will withstand Major League hitters or golfer's with a Tiger Woods swing, then you may want to shell out some more cash and get a higher quality product.
I personally wouldn't spend more than $40 for the product, but if this one breaks I would spend another $30 on one (I've certainly got that much use out of it).
Hope this helps.

DO NOT BUY!! Jun 24, 2009
By Alan E. Wilds This product is absolutely worthless. One of the poles broke the very first time I set it up. One day and in the trash can it went. I bought this because I like the size and the multi use potential. Do not make the same mistake I did. I liked the price but I am reminded that you truly do get what you pay for!
